The veneered metal crown or VMK crowns is a great choice for those who want to restore their teeth and maintain a healthy, natural appearance. This type of crown is made by taking an impression of your tooth and sending it to a lab, where it will be made into a temporary crown.
Once the laboratory has finished making your temporary crown, they will send it back to our office. Then we will take impressions of your gums and bite down on special bite blocks to ensure that both the fit and shape are perfect. Once this is complete, we will cement the temporary crown into place on your tooth so that you can begin wearing it immediately.
Once you have worn your temporary crown for several weeks, we will remove the temporary crown and take more impressions of your gums and bite. After comparing these impressions with the ones taken earlier, we will decide whether or not any adjustments need to be made before creating your permanent veneered metal crown. If no changes are necessary, we will create your new permanent veneered metal crown using dental cement or another material that matches your existing teeth perfectly.
